Message from the President

Namaste ,

It is my profound honor and heartfelt privilege to welcome you to the Nepalese Literary Society of Calgary.

Literature is the living soul of a community — it safeguards our history, reflects the pulse of our present, and illuminates the path toward our future. As Nepali-speaking writers, readers, scholars, and cultural enthusiasts residing in Canada, we share a sacred responsibility: to preserve, nurture, and promote our language, literature, and cultural identity for generations yet to come.

Since its establishment in 2012, our Society has remained steadfast in its commitment to providing a vibrant and inclusive platform where literary voices resonate freely, ideas are thoughtfully exchanged, and creativity blossoms without boundaries. Through literary gatherings, cultural programs, intellectual discussions, and meaningful publications, we strive not only to strengthen the bonds within our community but also to introduce the richness, depth, and beauty of Nepali literature to a broader and diverse audience.

I warmly invite writers, poets, scholars, youth, and all lovers of literature to join us in this inspiring journey. Your participation, imagination, and unwavering support form the very foundation of our continued growth and collective success. Together, let us celebrate the power of words, preserve our cherished heritage, and inspire future generations to carry forward the timeless light of literature.

Thank You

Ramesh Lamichhane
